“I’m sure the (U.S.) administration understands the situation and they’re going to make their decision (about Keystone) based on their national interest,” he said.
“Some of the proposals are just punitive to oil and gas as a sector. Others are even more specifically selective and more punitive by selecting just a handful of companies,” American Petroleum Institute Pres. Jack N. Gerard said in a teleconference with reporters.
Gerard said the new television ads are part of API’s overall advertising campaign — including commercials with the familiar female announcer describing the industry as a job creator. But these new commercials don’t look quite the same.
In other Nymex trading, heating oil rose 1.7 cents to $3.14 per gallon and gasoline futures added 1.6 cents to $2.74 per gallon. Natural gas slid 0.1 cent to $3.70 per 1,000 cubic feet.
